COVID-19 put us all in an unexpected situation.
I hope that everyone and their families can overcome this difficult phase of our lives and remain healthy.
Another season has ended and a new one draws near. I would like to greet you all and thank you for the trust you placed on us by supporting FRD.
On the 2019-2020 season that now ends we maintained the good results from seasons past (to the satisfaction of property owners and hunters alike) due to our work and ethic.
This season we claimed 1498 individuals from which 235 were deer, 73 fallow deer, 24 mouflon, 328 wild boar M/F and the remainder females.
18 of the wild boars presented considerable tusks, from which 35% await medal approval.
According to the latest statements from Portugal’s Prime Minister, we should return to the possible normalcy at the start of June.
It will then be time for management, to once again schedule meetings with each Hunting Area, to do a census on the local populations and consequently decide what species and quantities will be explored by the different hunting processes in the near future.
